Work Experience 12

WEX 12 Programs are elective Work Experience courses, designed for students who would like to explore one or more career pathways as a part of their career planning process. Students must complete a minimum of 100 hours of Work Experience, usually in one particular focus area. Completion of these placement hours typically occurs over grades 11 and 12. The Focus Areas are:

  • Business & Applied Business
  • Fine Arts, Design & Media
  • Fitness & Recreation
  • Health & Human Services
  • Liberal Arts & Humanities
  • Science & Applied Science
  • Tourism, Hospitality & Foods
  • Trades & Technology

Students that complete their WEX 12 requirements receive 4 extra credits toward graduation, and are highly employable. To find out about the WEX 12 programs that are offered at your school, or to apply for the program of your choice, see your school Counsellor or Career Advisor.
