(SSA) Secondary School Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship is paid, work-based training, usually combined with post-secondary education. The SD#33 Apprenticeship Program is designed for students who are interested in an Apprenticeable Trade. SSA allows you to begin an apprenticeship while still in high school, and earn credits! Students who complete the program and satisfy all the criteria will earn a $1000 scholarship to use toward further training in your trade.

How to Get Started:

  1. Select a trade/industry that interests you and learn as much as you can about it
  2. Try a Work Experience placement in the trade
  3. Find an employer that will hire you and commit to your training
  4. Contact the SSA Coordinator to register in program
  5. Continue to earn while you learn!
